MOT sods law!
Took the Vitesse down the road on Saturday for it's annual poke'n'prod, double checked everything the night before as you do, the poxy manual screen washer pump suddenly decided to lose pressure...grrrrr.........a rummage in the shed turned up an old electric pump so a quick bit of wiring later and I'd lashed up a working pump.I took it in Saturday morning, everything worked ok until the tester called me in to do the lights (he couldn't work out the switches
).... main beam decided to stop working on one side! A quick bit of wire twitching got it going but it'd been working fine all year, just like the screen washer!!! Why oh why do gremlins strike at test time!!!!

Sounds like a friendly garage and proper mechanic not a fitter with a god complex thinking he's a mechanic!

Re: MOT sods law!
My MOT station follow the rules wisely, rather than obediently/foolishly. The lights (Can't remember if it was dipped or main) on the V8 stopped working and it was down to some corrosion, in a bullet connector behind the grille.
Oddly enough, I noticed my rear indicators on the Midget had both stopped working last weekend (Fronts were fine). I have recently got around to fitting a carpet set, in the boot of the Midget (Been on the to do list for years
) and the side bits are a tad fiddley. It seems both had separated the bullet connectors for the indicators (Which are the top of the cluster). All is now well

Rules exist for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men.
