Apple mac computer question

we use our dish washer for plates too.in fact i bought another just in case it breaks down.... not tried cooking with it but next time you try & wash plates wash the car parts separately, that may have been your problem..

For the record you CAN'T install any operating system on to any computer, there is much more to it than bunging in an install disc and expecting it to work.

With respect to Dave, As Terry says you can't just install Windows on a Mac. While it's likely that the machine in question has an intel processor, it HAS to have BootCamp installed, which is part of OSX 10.5 and above. This will allow you to make another disc with the appropriate drivers, as Windows does not and is unlikely to ever come with them.

Well there you go, and I thought computers were simple.....

Lets go back to the days of ZX81s and Vic 20s, they were much easier to use.......

Re the mac why do you want to put windows on it? why not just use it as intended. It will have a web browser, there are lots of free office progs around to choose from and that's about what 70-80% of computer use is. Why fix it when it isn't broken?

I wondered that too, but didn't ask as I figured that the o/p must like being vulnerable to all sorts of malware, having an overly complex operating system and having to pay money for software that's available open source.

Running a Linux distro on an 8086-derived machine, however, makes perfect sense but as that wasn't the question, I'll not offer it as an answer....
