Re: petrol cap problems ?
Have you tried the manufacturer?
An important lesson here is always check that what you're buying is complete.

Probably a stupid question but have you tried the cap straight on to existing filler neck. I can't remember exactly but thought the Marina cap had internal flange already. Some cars such as the Minor & Austin 1100 had external fitting caps which needed the adaptor to be fitted. Just a thought but I am sure you will have tried it.

Re: petrol cap problems ?
I remember from our old Marina, we had the same make of cap & the adaptor was necessary; can't recall why, I was too young to pay that much attention - possibly the original cap fitted on lugs on the outer rim, which isn't practical for locking caps?

Re: petrol cap problems ?
Allegros don't need adaptors for locking petrol caps; none of my fleet has one.

Re: petrol cap problems ?
Hm; my 1974 has the same filler neck as the other cars, so even that adaptor would be unlikely to fit the Marina. Can't hurt to try I suppose.
