Re: Paris - A Romantic weekend away ??
Wonderful. We went for the second time last year. Did it in a single (long) day by getting a 7am or so train. It's such a great event.

Re: SU carbs oil level
The spring is compressed as the piston rises so it would help push it back down when the throttle is closed though the changes in air pressure probably have a greater effect. But its real job is control how far (and to a degree how fast) the piston rises in the first place to match the fuel ...

Re: London to Brighton run
I went to Hyde Park first thing and then headed down to Birdcage Walk/Parliament Square/Westminster Bridge. Previously I'd normally hung around near Hyde Park corner and Buck Palace so my photos look a little different this year ;)

Terry G is right, and I have done a Motorsports Engineering and Design Degree and can tell you that simply cutting springs is a big no no. They may not fail the MOT but as Terry says, you have dramatically changes the spring rates etc, and not forgetting where you 'cut' the spring you will weaken ...

Save theses Rootes!
A couple of hours after seeing a post over on Autoshite this morning I and a couple of other bods were having a look over trio of Rootes cars that have probably sat in their current resting places for over 30 years and maybe 40 or more. These cars are available and it would be really nice to see ...

I'm afraid its not 'that' Jensen

But I'm sure that 'that' Jensen may benefit from the film.

Re: Fuel
This seems to be a problem that Rootes cars particularly suffer and I don't think there's much you can do about it. I don't think its got anything to do with the newly arriving Ethanol content as it happened to me when I bought my early Arrow estate five years ago. The car had been barely used for ...
