Did you modify it to take backplates with double-ended cylinders then? Last time I was in about at the rear brakes on a Vitesse, they were sliding cylinders the same as those found on various other Triumphs, four wheeled Reliants and no doubt other cars from the 1960s through 1980s.

Re: Brake pipe replacement on Vit6
Thanks for the replies.
None of the pipes will be subject to movement such as JPB mentioned because movement at the wheels is catered for by flexible hoses; Goodridge ones in my case, fitted a couple of years ago along with new calipers and rear drum cylinders.

Brake pipe replacement on Vit6
The brake pipe that goes to the back brakes on my Vitesse 6 has sprung a leak where it passes through the front outrigger on the passenger side. I've decided that it's sensible to replace all the pipes. The TSSC sell an Automec Brake Pipe Kit for £55, they're copper and are the correct length with ...

I'd forgotten that I had these pics on Photobucket. If you're down this way it's well worth a visit.

Re: Thank you Neil Campbell, Vit6 Convertible stats
I posted the figures regarding the Vit6Conv on the TSSC site. I can't believe some of the responses I've had pooh poohing the DVLA figures. Here's an example:

Re: Thank you Neil Campbell, Vit6 Convertible stats
So the figures aren't gospel, but they must be pretty accurate. And as it's such a low figure (132) 10% either way doesn't amount to much does it?

Thank you Neil Campbell, Vit6 Convertible stats
In the July issue of PC there was an article titled Endangered Species. At the end of the article it was suggested that if anyone was concerned about the surviving numbers of a particular model to get in touch. I did this, asking about the numbers of Vitesse 6 Convertibles still on the road. Lo and ...

Re: Trolley jack problem
Just to let you know that I've got it working.
I removed the axle which retained the valve block to see if there was any other means of filling it up, there was'nt. I lifted the valve block up so that the hex head screw was at its highest point. I removed it and added some jack oil, about 5ml ...

Re: Does anyone else think Drive It day is stupid?
I took part in Drive it Day as one of nearly 50 classics owned by members of, primarily, the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club (VHVC) on the IW. Members of other clubs such as the TSSC and MGOC were also invited. We all met up at Newport FC car park and went on a 50 mile or so, run.
