I've always fancied a MGTC (or maybe a TD) but there is no way I can ever afford to own one.
Another idea is build a replica on a "period" chassis and running gear from something which the body is beyong repair. Not sure what but quick list could be MGA, Austin Devon, Rover P4 (maybe too big), and such.
Anyone know of a decent looking and reasonably accurate kit car version of the MGTC ?
Another idea is buy a new genuine spec bodytub and reproduction wings etc together with autojumble parts.
Just a dream whilst rest of familly are glued to TV

The pre TD stuff will be harder, as they had leaf springs at the front. The TD had a new chassis, with IFS and rack and pinion steering. The TF was a TD with a re styled front end. Prototype MGA bodies were originally fitted on TD/TF chassis.

Depending on your budget, Naylor and Hutson built TF replicas (The Naylor used a 1.7 O Series engine), that were pretty authentic all things considered. I've seen a Hutson TF sold for £10250; a fair bit of money but a lot less than a genuine MG T Type.

There was a Gentry TF replica, based on Triumph running gear. I'd class this as more of a passing resemblance but I've just seen one at £4750 - http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/cla ... rno/130089.

If you want a real old sports car and you can find one, Austin 7 Nippys are relatively cheap.
