What are you doing today? Six of us are catching the ferry to Ireland from Pembroke Dock, another group from Pembrokeshire left on Friday and we will all meet up there on Monday. Will probably meet the Wexford club as well. Our group is staying until Wednesday evening and catching the ferry home.
I have been told that about 40 of the Wexford club are coming over for our annual show ( June 5t/h ) and on Saturday 4t/h a short run around the county has been organised for them. If you can get to Pembrokeshire on the 5t/h it should be a good show. We usually get 450+ cars attending together with a few stationary engines, tractors and lorries.

Not quite what you mean - but I drove my project 1954 sidevalve Reliant Regal buggy round the garden today for the first time today - does that count?

First time it's moved under its own power for at least 20 years, what a great feeling! As it's only a chassis and drivetrain it's pretty light, and does feel somewhat "lively" to say the least.... Pics soon I promise!

Still a bit of work to do on it, finish painting the wheels, swap tyres on to them, and restore the pick-up tipping bed and it'll be more or less done.

I went out in in the MX-5 to collect some bits for my MG Midget.
I saw a few classics out and about including a lovely original series 1 E type, Morris Minor,Triumph Herald and a Sunbeam rapier.all around the Hebden Bridge area.

I think I know who the owner of the Herald is. Unfortunately, I was out in the modern today going to the local Ikea. Didn't see any classics today.

I went out this morning in the Minx for an hour along the A5 and saw............nothing - nothing at all. perhaps it's just my local area but each year the numbers I see out on drive it day get less and less. I think I have gone out on all but one of the previous day's and from seeing two or three dozen at the start it has dwindled to none today.

A1 southbound, just north of the dual carriageway section that was opened a year past the park gates, a shiny blue Alvis was seen.
In Berwick, I saw the usual crop of daily use jalopies that are still in service because they work, and nobody up here would get rid of a fully working, road legal automobile. But, among these jalopies was a very lovely, 1972/73 Capri in light blue metallic and its driver flashed and waved most robustly when he got an eyeful of my daily Corolla, I probably looked like a blithering nincompoop as I'm sure that some dribble came out on seeing the Ford, but I stopped to check and no, my car wasn't on fire or otherwise attracting that sort of attention , so it's official then; drive it day brought out at least three hardy souls whose cars aren't newish.
Seems like another partial success..

Yesterday I must have seen a dozen 3 wheeled morgans driving around Derbyshire and various other classics. I see the e-type that lives in the village on the road most weekends and this weekend was no exception.
Today 50+ different classics. I was driving so no pictures but it was lovely seeing so many classics on the road

I was marshalling on the hill at Prescott yesterday so the Datsun was in the car park.
Apart from the competitors..... there were some nice old cars parked up in the public car park when I went for a gawp at lunch time, including a special edition Escort Cosworth, an MGA (on steroids with a V8 I think), a 100/4, a MkII Cooper S in blue (ie not red!) and with the oe highback recliners, a Sunbeam Tiger and a Lancia Appia (I think). Latter was a charming little 1955 RHD saloon about size of a Minor, must have been a bit special in 1950's as looked much better finished /trimmed etc than our Anglias & Minors.

I was already feeling blue yesterday over the fact I haven't had a roadgoing classic for what will be the 5th summer now, and this has made it worse (though I hope you guys all have a fun day).

your making me jelous!! i spent the day walking behind me classic yamaha ylm 553 lawnmower... its a pig to start & the ride on is broken....
