I keep a copy of the workshop manual on a memory stick. Also on the memory stick is a data base with the cars history. I keep the memory stick in the glove box. I also keep a copy of the memory stick with the cars paperwork. And also a copy on my lap top's desk top.

I down loaded the makers workshop manual from a web site for free.

I have similar but on my Google drive, so accessible from any computer, phone or tablet I log in to. I can also share files with other people if I see someone asking for help.

I have a copy of the cars's details, VIN etc so I can do on the fly look up; say standing at a parts desk. A reference sheet of all the bulbs that are required throughout the car and lots of other data, how to's and technical specs for various bits and bobs.

Also other useful stuff, like PDF version of the operating manual and parts diagrams for my compressor and welder etc. so I can trouble shoot off my phone whilst in the garage if need be.

Eddypeck.

I update the laptop file first in case it crashes then once happy I then download to the memory sticks.

Also the dimensions of my home are on a memory stick. So handy.

Actually one gets ones butler to look after the records.

The information on the cars memory stick is part of the cars history and adds value.

The record is an artifact. When the car is gone the record still exists. The record in say 100 years time can be used by Historians to give further insight into the 20th and 21st century.
