As the strip of the Herald progresses I`m thinking that as she`s been of the road for nigh on 20 years I`d better change the bushes on the car as those that are there will likely be shot or close to it.
Poly seems to be the way to go. The question is which manufacturer PolyPush Supaflex Duraflex?
Anyone fitted them and would they recommend?
Which Poly Bush?
Re: Which Poly Bush?
I used Supaflex in the Rebels, whose wishbones and trunnions are Vitesse/GT6 items and found their yellow (closest to rubber in "softness") ones most suitable for the wishbones and purple ("harder") for the trunnion bushes. On Dolomites, Supaflex too, though they were way too soft for rack mounts and the steering column joint which I replaced with solid aluminium bushes (rack mounts) and a metal U/J (column). Also, ignore any advice suggesting the use of one poly and one solid rack mount, this setup can cause the rack to split at the end with the solid mount. In locations where the bushes' ability to twist is critical (trailing arm bushes in Dollies, etc.) then even the softest polybushes are too stiff and their use can cause the component to crack, this I found in the rear arms on one of my Volvo 140 series cars as well as in my blue Dolomatic. Where the bushes simply have to deform radially, such as wishbones, go for it, but if the location involves any twisting, replace with solid rubber in place of voided but avoid poly unless the locating member itself is designed to twist, such as an anti roll bar link or the shackle at the moving end of a trap spring.

Re: Which Poly Bush?
I used polybush blue on my Range Rover but immediately regretted it, they are too soft. The mog has black pollybushes from ESM on it. They aren't any particular brand but they are superb.
