New series of Top Gear to get global launch

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

New series of Top Gear to get global launch

#1 Post by Mitsuru »

New series of Top Gear to get global launch in over 50 countries

The BBC programme - once one of the most pirated programmes in the world - will be seen in locations across Australia, Africa and the Middle East at the same time as the programme is shown on BBC2 later this month.

A further ten countries including Malaysia, Taiwan and Mongolia will screen the show - starring Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond - within 24 hours of its UK debut on January 25.

Good old Express, not just there for the dull stuff like who died, when and how. Who did die? :?

This looks like it might be a bit more interesting for those of us who like the classics,
starts in February.

Hmmm - Jodie Kidd or Jeremy Clarkson?

Easy choice, Jodie knows something about cars!

If we're going to post links to news sites:

It almost sounds like the producer things TG would move to a different channel if the Beeb axe it. I wonder if Dave would dare to take it on - they bleep all sorts of naughty words out of things like QI, so they may not be brave enough to make TG!

There's a hovercraft in the opening episode. With Clarkson driving.

I "drove" mine from the yard where I found it, along the lane to a suitably high bit of ground and onto its trailer and in doing so, it only fell off the trailer very slightly but I had been practising for that moment every day for a week so small wonder I came so close to getting it right. Lashing it onto the trailer was fun, we discovered that [the hovercraft] had no wheels..
:?
But the thing is that Clarkson has frequently demonstrated an amazing ability to drive pretty much anything (remember that Tatra, whose weird gearchange JC mastered within a few yards of getting in the car), so what will happen when the wheels are removed from the equation? Will he stuff it up? I genuinely almost care about what happens and anyway, what's the alternative? Call the bloody Midwife? No ta.

John aren't you forgetting that he has said in previous episodes of TG that he has a hoover craft of his own!

All this talk about hovercraft reminds me of the time I was following a hovercraft being towed at speed on a trailer down the A12. As the speed picked up I could see the engine being turned over compression by the propeller and wondered what would happen if it suddenly started :?:
