As shutting that website would not stop the cameras from streaming their feed across the
internet, it is best to find the owners of these cameras and get the owners to change their
passwords! The main news media wouldn't link or list the details of this particular site, and
yet if they did perhaps the influcks of [eople wanting to look could have possibly crashed it!
I did a little searching and managed to find the link and this is opened on the page where
there are a couple of cameras in Beverley apparently!
http://www.insecam.cc/cam/bycountry/GB/?page=6
Lets see who is on?

For anyone soft enough to click on that link (

), please
don't follow the prompt (to enter your system keyring) that appears when you open [the link].

I should say that there is a menu and an index which shows a still image from that webcam.
But if you click on the link to view that webcam it will show where it is on a map but with a
no show on the camera and possibly ask for you to install software, but that page is for the
map so you can get an idea where it is if you had rocognised the small still image.
Sometimes the description of where it is located is way off but the map shows the location
apparently. But just using the still image from the index should be more than enough to help!

The site is relatively harmless, but it high lights the security issue of having a webcam online and not changing the default password.
For the most part, your PC or Laptop webcam is fine if you leave it or use it for Skype etc. But Wifi cameras, Internet enabled CCTV systems and web cams set up to stream are at risk.
Very little information is available, but if you do happen to have a pet cam system set up (like I do) which happens to have a camera in the bedroom.... and you leave the password open. You could be in a shock the next time you open up Youtube.
The phone hacking scandal worked in a similar way, people not changing the default passwords for their voicemail.
Take password security seriously! Always!
