New Toy

#1 Post by kevin »

Long before I got into classic cars, I always had motorbikes, ranging from BSA A10's to Nortons and BMWs
Now that the Singer is running sweetly and providing many miles of smiles my thoughts have turned to another project, no room for another car so a bike it had to be..

I cant believe the cost of the usual classic stuff, even the bikes that would be classed as quite poor models fetch huge sums!!!!!.
So, ive been looking in the usual places to no avail.

Requirements were:

Cheap.
Complete.
Good spares availability.
Around 500-650cc and fairly lightweight (we are all getting older)

Went to see a few bikes, all either overpriced or tatty.
Had a few searches logged and this popped up last week..

A few years younger than I originally wanted but it is 34 years old and with only 29k (genuine) on the clock and being a 650cc fits the bill perfectly.
Whilst its in superb original condition, it has been laid up for 5 years since its owner (an elderly bloke) passed away so will need some spanner time :0)
Its due to arrive on friday so stand by for more info

Looks sweet :) I sold out this year and went newish with a F650GS BMW with the Rotax 650 single twinspark engine after selling the Guzzi 750 I fixed up. A really nice bike to ride but I think your choice has more character.

I've not completely sold out though, I still have a CZ 175 Trail I'm slowly rebuilding, which should satisfy my need for quirkiness when it is done.

Enjoy.
