I like that your post count flicked to 666 when you posted that link
When I was 19 I had a mini also with no roof. I had bikers pointing and laughing at me while driving in a rain storm once. I love open top motoring but in the UK, rain happens much too often!

It's fine. I went out and lifted the drain plugs in the floor (no carpet). Turned out to have a bit of a silver lining as one of the drain plugs exposed a load of mud in the underbody, so i can clean it out before rust sets in.

I feel much better now. Co-worker left the windows in his Golf open, and went off to the pub....
Fortunately the bloke who drove his Caterham 7, planned ahead and brought his roof.

Going back to my early years, I would be about five when we went to the seaside for a picnic in the MM convertible. It was a beautiful day, so the "old folks" didn't bother to put the rear side-screens in the boot (they lifted right out on early Mogs) and yes, we had our picnic and it poured down - for about twenty five miles! My sister and I were soaked and, more importantly, the cantankerous dog we had was also cold and wet - not nice when you can't get away from it!

Apparently there are more convertibles sold in the UK than anywhere else in Europe. It must be true I heard it on Top Gear.

Jeep is one of the few brands where you can look out your window, see this happening, and NOT be concerned.
Now, if you had an Audi, Bentley, Saab, Merc, etc... you'd be screaming like a girl!

When I started on the farms, we used plastic fertiliser bags as leggings and ex-army greatcoats. Gloves were a no-no as they made it hard to get your fingers under the strings on the hay bales (and using a slasher to chop kale was dangerous with gloves on!). We left the tractors running and would use the exhausts to warm our hands and wellies! I had a beard with icicles on it for a week or two during the winter.
Driving a Fordson Major (with no plastic on the steering wheel and no cab) into a hail storm in winter is not the most enjoyable thing I've done! Leading slurry (contracting) for hours in torrential rain (again, without a cab) wasn't much fun either - the water was coming out of the top of my wellies when I got back "home". I'd set off on a perfect summer's day and not a cloud in the sky. The rain started almost as soon as I arrived at the customer's farm - about seven miles from my coat!
