Hottest day of the year so far and the Sudbury branch of the Ipswich Building Society has two Christmas trees in the window

I was just thinking how the nights were drawing in - I had to put the sitting room light on before eleven last night!!

And the mornings are so dark these days.

I was up this morning at 4 o'clock to go down for a swim in the sea and the sun had only just risen. You being further west, it probably didn't get to you for another 20 minutes or so.

B'stard!

We get that it's probably
genuinely hot over in that France but quit making the UK look worse than it actually is eh.
I never remove articles of clothing in public places between the hours of 4am and midnight. Well the RSPCA are busy enough with rescuing
real whales from the beaches..

Yeah, I must try to lose a few more stones.

By coincidence, I am bare-chested at the moment - it was hot (and a warm wind) when I walked the dog and I took my tee-shirt off when I got home.
The Hermes lady called with a parcel, but didn't get any more excited than usual - ignores me and chats with the dog (that is the female dog that looks cute).
I'll be putting a shirt back on when I go out to mow the lawns - although I used to work all day without one, I don't now - the sun seems to burn more. Anyway, after mowing the lawn, I want to weld the new footwell into the Landy (it's in position and drilled for spot welding). I suspect it will be tomorrow before I do that - the grass is quite long!
I suppose John is a little too far from Newcastle - so can be forgiven for knowing what a shirt is!

It's only the women who go out drinking - on a winter night in temperatures down into the negatives - with no outer clothing on.
A quick search of images using the term "Bigg Market drunk women" will make your eyes pop clean out of their sockets..

I didn't - I have a friend who lives in/near Consett and used to drive buses, he had some shocking tales, especially around Christmas/New Year!
