Very good deal that, a mate of mine just bought that exact set for £150, so now he's well fed up! I looked at it with him, and it is indeed a very good quality set, superb value at that price. I'm not normally a Halfords fan, to put it mildly, but this kit is very good and well worth while.

My dad has his kit and is very pleased with it, its taken some abuse too.

The only Halfords tools that I break on a regular basis are the ratchet spanners.
I have gone through 2 10mm ones in a year. they always replace them without argument but I would suggest using them to do 95% of the job then swap to a normal spanner to torque up.

Oddly enough, the Halfords A/F ratchet spanner set that I bought a couple of years ago - following the offer being mentioned in a forum - remains undamaged bar a few very minor areas of purely cosmetic wear to the 1/2" and 3/8" ones, yet when I was using nothing but very dear tools from the Proto van, I had them out to replace eight of their "ratchet"** spanners in one year, five of these 1/2" and the rest 3/8". I'd actually rate the Halfords ratchet spanners above the Protos were it not for the fact that the Proto ones *used a silent (toothless) check mechanism* which meant that even the slightest movement would be enough to provide further movement in places where the conventional ratchet check in the Halfords spanners meant removing the tool and replacing it further round, but even when abusing them thoroughly I've not yet managed to break one and won't in the future as I now lack the strength to break much stronger than a Jacobs and even then I need to score it with a knife to give it a start!
