I have just been given a 1994 740i less than 4,000,000 miles and in good nick.
It needs front ball joints changing but its not a car i have done much on before.
It seems the ball joints are part of the tie rods but it appears to have 2 or 3 of them on each side upper lower and rear
So before i start ripping it apart i thought i would ask if anyone has done them.

Might be worth you having a look over on bmwland forum, there are some very knowledgeable and helpful guys over there.

All joking aside, you are a jammy goit! congrats on your acquisition. They are absolutely amazing cars to drive, smooth as glass, comfy as an overstuffed chesterfield. oh, and they go like stink too!
Sorry I can't offer advice on spannering with one, I have never worked on a BMW, just driven the wheels off other peoples

Thanks, it is rather good considering its age, its actualy only just turned 90k miles so its just run in and its a 1 owner full dealer history.

I know its history is correct as my boss gave it to me he paid 52k for it back when it was new.
