Hello all,
Just letting you know that the all new 2nd series of Car SOS starts on Monday 24th March, 9pm on Nat Geo Channel (526).
Ten more cars, lots more rust, sweat and tears.
I'll be tweeting live during the original transmission of each show and the +1.
Hope you enjoy 'em.
All the best,
Fuzz

Great news, going up against another established show about restoring old cars I see though?

Just been watching the re-runs of the first series of Car SOS, enjoyed it immensely.

Looking forward to it - and my wife loved the show, too. The appearance of Aldridge Trimming in Wolverhampton gave us the incentive to get them to fix a few holes in Mrs M's 200 cabrio hood - and they made a lovely job of it at a very attractive price.

Did you find any excuse to use the wonderfully named driveshaft specialist "Des Shelley Shafts" in Wolves? Even if not needed, it would have raised a smile at the name! http://www.desshelleyshafts.gandi-site.net/

Series 2 was more enjoyable than Series 1 mainly because I knew how things were done filming wise. It may not have been obvious to those who I was working with at the time!! I am sure everybody watching will enjoy Series 2. A huge thank you to Fuzz, Tim and all the Renegade team for being so kind to the OAP!!!

Look out for the new NatGeo advert for Car SOS on their website. I don't know when that is aired.

We used Shelley Shafts to do the propshaft on the Anglia in series 1. I have used them on several occasions and they are brilliant. They built the front and rear prop shaft's for my 1942 Dodge WC 51 from scratch and they were cheaper than buying them from a specialist parts company in the UK. (The splined sliding joints were shot on the originals) Shelleys also fitted new joints and a tube to a friends GMC for about £160-00. The original one was more like a skipping rope when it was turning! I will use them again to do the prop shaft's for my 1942 Ford GPW. I've got more than 3 weeks to do that in. It's proving to be a challenge both mechanically and fiscally. So far I've chucked more in the skip than I've bolted on. :( Does anybody want to nominate me for Car SOS?

Phil

If we did, it would spoil the surprise when you recognised the two dodgy blokes coming to pick it up for a "film shoot" ;)
