Alcoolémie: la police belge fait souffler le passager

Drôle d’histoire pour ce couple belge qui rentrait d’un repas au restaurant le week-end dernier. Arrêtés par la police pour un simple contrôle d’alcoolémie, c’est la passagère de la voiture qui a subi le test. Petite bourde de la police ? La voiture était anglaise.


Alors qu’il rentrait d’une soirée au restaurant avec sa femme, Patrick Van den Kieboom reconnaît avoir un peu trop bu pour pouvoir conduire. Juste « deux Duvel et une bière ». Son épouse, Katelijn n’a bu que du thé à la menthe, selon le journal Sudinfo , qui a révélé cette histoire insolite. « J’ai quand même repris le volant », a avoué Patrick.

Le volant était à droite

Roulant du côté d’Edegem, dans la région d’Anvers, en Belgique, le couple se fait arrêter par la police pour un contrôle d’alcoolémie. Le conducteur a bien cru à un futur procès.

Coup de chance pour Patrick, la police ne s’est pas rendu compte que la voiture était anglaise, donc, avec le volant à droite. C’est Katelijn, assise sur le siège passager, à gauche, qui a soufflé dans l’éthylotest. « Vous êtes safe », a dit le policier sans jamais remarquer que Katelijne n’était pas au volant.

Pour la féliciter de sa sobriété, l’épouse de Patrick a reçu une récompense de la police : « Quand ma femme a reçu un porte-clefs Bob, j’ai cru que j’allais faire dans mon pantalon », relate le réel conducteur. Le test s’est déroulé « selon la routine », le couple a par la suite pu rentrer tranquillement chez lui.

Pour sa défense, la police affirme avoir des doutes sur la version des faits.

Funny story for this Belgian couple who had just returned from a meal at the restaurant last weekend . Arrested by the police for a simple alcohol test , it is the passenger of the car that took the test . Small blunder of the police? The car was English .


While returning from an evening at the restaurant with his wife , Patrick Van den Kieboom acknowledges having a little too much to be able to drive. Just "two and a Duvel beer ." His wife, Katelijn has only drank tea with mint, according to the newspaper Sudinfo , which revealed this unusual story . "I still took the wheel ," admitted Patrick .

The steering wheel was on the right

Rolling on the side of Edegem in the Antwerp region , Belgium , the couple stopped by the police for alcohol control. The driver has believed in a future trial .

Stroke of luck for Patrick , the police did not realize that the car was English , so with the right hand drive. This is Katelijn , sitting in the passenger seat , left, who has blown into the breathalyzer . "You're safe ," said the officer never noticed that Katelijne was not driving.

To congratulate his sobriety , the wife of Patrick received an award from the police: "When my wife received a keychain Bob , I thought I would do in my pants ," recounts the real driver . The test was conducted "according to the routine," the couple subsequently able to go quietly home.
