Well after the initial reports of his injuries it seems its things are taking a turn for the worst.

Lets hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Scary stuff, that freshly fallen snedge! At first the brain damage wasn't mentioned, not while the Guardian** broke that part a few hours ago. But in his favour he's fitter than most and has that determination that saw him win all these F1 titles, let us hope he'll be OK.

**- That's the same Guardian that reported Mandela's death some five months before it eventually came, so maybe we can allow some margin here too.

I doubt it matters how fit he is if it's brain damage, just have to keep our fingers crossed...

It's the sort of accident that could happen to anyone, you don't need to be schumie to do yourself serious damage - the doc was on the tv saying it's the helmet that saved him,and as much as I dislike wearing a helmet for cycling I always stick it on, like a seatbelt, even if I'm just off to the shop. It's early days but hopefully his fitness will keep him alive.

Maybe not but it will help in many other respects. I've never been a Schumacher fan, but I wish him all the best and hope that he recovers as quickly as I did when I was in a (broadly) similar situation a few years ago (intensive care/medically induced coma etc). If he survives these early stages, his mental attitude will stand him in great stead for his longer term recovery.

I just hope everything goes well.

I certainly wouldn't go that far but he certainly was a superb F1 driver.
Regardless of celebrity status it is very sad for this to happen to anyone.

I never really liked the guy but I would certainly never wish this on him. I hope he pulls through and is 100% the Schumacher we all know and love or hate.

He doesn't half look like his old man though. No way he was the milkman's kid! "Improving but still not out of the woods" according to the F1 site.

Did anybody see his manager give the statement at 10-00am today. She was surrounded by dozens of press guys. She said "Please listen as I will say this only once!" She then said "I will now speak to the German press." Please tell me somebody else heard it. They haven't repeated it since only the UK reporter doing her report.
