What on earth for?!?!?! They have been removed from London because they are death traps. Have you been thinking about turning the back half in to a garage and the front half in to a camper? I know a man with an old double decker that has been converted to have go karts stored downstairs and a camper type bit upstairs.

It's only in London they have been removed because of "the number of accidents involving cyclists" and the public complaining that they take up too much road space. That and a design fault that involved lots of them bursting in to flames.

It was the Merc ones that used to catch fire. The other reason they had to go was because they were constantly blocking junctions and yellow boxes, it was one of Boris's vote winners saying they were going to go. They used to run them along the Romford road and through Ilford town centre, an absolute nightmare, horrible things! Way too unweildly to get through the 'buses only' bits.....they used to lose a lot of revenue as well, you could hop on the back bit when the doors opened and not pay, as a lot of people did. Besides, the rest of the world have to use them because they don't have the infinately superior double deckers that we have
