collected the mail this morning to find a speeding ticket for 3 kmh over the limit.... on a motorway where they had lowered the limit
sat nav was showing 130 & i was doing about 115, sadly the limit was 110. bugger..also need a certificate of conformity for tipper & ford will only give me a partial as its a tipper
dont they have tippers in France??

Isn't there a 10% rule in France? You could roll 3kph over and not notice.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Re: bad day
I thought it was 3mph + 10% to take into account tyre wear and mechanical inaccuracies in the drive line to the speedo.??
Someone needs to do some googling.

Here we go again!
I can't find that thread right now but I paid two fines, one at £60.35 for speed awareness retraining and the other, with the points, at a straight £60 for two speeding fines caught by the same roadside camera van. The L&B Police had, might still have as far as I know, a "zero tolerance" policy and my speeds - in one of their 30mph limits (emphasis clearly needed as some folk appear to think that they're a mandatory minimum these days) - were 31mph in the one direction then 34mph in the other. They aren't obliged to allow any deviation whatsoever should they choose not to do so. My legal guru suggested that the worst thing I could do would be to point out that the speedometer in the Dolomite was actually reading under as the fine for that would have been dearer than the course and the other fine combined! A speedometer may read over though, since it's quite logically assumed that this would make the driver less likely to speed.
Rich, how was your GPS wrong? Is that even possible?

Are you referring to this thread (search for ACPO)

Let's not get back in to the details of it, it was painful enough first time round.

Re: bad day
the new sat nav keeps telling me the map is 14 months out of date & i have tried to update the thing several times but it has a crisis & needs a lie down.. the section of motorway everyone was travelling about 105/110 but the sat nav was showing 130 & as i was in the outside lane i passed them & about 500 metres further on there was a speed limit sign 110 & i was doing about 115... sat nav was still happily showing 130..
thankfully its a €45 fine & as far as i can see no points
