4mm stainless steel coach screws

#1 Post by Dobbin »

Afternoon, I'm looking for a stainless steel screw with a slightly domed head similar to a coach or carriage screw. Ideally the head would be approx 10mm in diameter. Length needs to be approx 15mm but I can always cut down to size if longer. Trouble is I can't find anywhere that sells 4mm or imperial equivelant. Can anyone help please? Ideally I would like this to be 'shiny'. Thanks in advance,

I suspect your search may be confusing you - coach screws are screws usually with either hex or square heads, coachbolts are the "domed" head with threads that you use with nuts. I did a quick search using "M4 stainless steel coach bolts" but the first site that showed them didn't give prices (though had a shopping cart!). Ebay has M5 bolts (but also shows coach screws in the results!) but not M4.

Have you tried a ships chandler or boat yard? I know a couple of boys who run a boat yard and they sell a lot of stainless fasteners to classic car owners. If you are stuck let me know and I will get their contact details.
