Justice.....sort of.

Just got back from court today after being called in to testify against the scumbag crackhead who stole my alfa and lancia VX. He had plead not guilty for some odd reason (perhaps because the cctv footage was somehow erased  ) and perhaps because he thought some form of intimidation would make me not tstify. Anyway...when he realised I was there to testify gainst him he changed his plea to guilty and got done for one count of theft and one of TWAC. I put in a claim for £2850 against him for the damages to the lancia (which I found with a car parked on top of it in a scrappy) but since he's been on the take for years at the job centre I doubt I'll see a penny. At least with a conviction we can take him to small claims and send the bailiffs in to get his 50" TV and iPod/Pad/Phone which all unemployed morons seem to posess. Judge called me in to thank me for turning up as a witness since apparently the reason why these dickheads get away with it is because no-one bothers to testify against them.

Good to hear that the person responsible has been caught but they never
get what they should do!

Can I just say one reason some witnesses or victims of crime don't
turn up at court is that either the police or the court don't tell people
how or where they can find out of court date changes or whats actually
going as they think it's not there job to tell the witnesses or victims of
such things!

(I speak from experience after being the victemised by a couple of
teenagers shooting at me with an air rifle on the main road through the
village some years ago)

Just a couple of things to point out having lived on a council estate.
Not all unemployed people have money to get such items, as there are
those who carefully save what little is left after paying bills and food
shopping etc, to buy an item which is to replace something which is on
it's last legs after many years of use
(my laptop is over 6 years old and until I can save enough money I will
be using it plugged into the back of my old tv so I can see the screen)

Then there are those who take on finance type or pay as you go options
of electrical goods or furniture. These objects will not be touched or
allowed to be included by the bailiffs by law.

HOWEVER if the police haven't already done so, when items have been
removed by bailiffs these would need to be checked to be sure that they
are not also stolen property. Once this has been done and the property
is not stolen can it be sold at a general auction.

Well done I hope you get at least something back. When I lived in the UK I had a couple of cars stolen and will always remember that gut wrenching feeling when the car is suddenly not there.

Hello again everyone. Back at last after going through a few months of total hell, being ravaged by my Mothers Alzheimers. Things have calmed down a lot now so I can pop back here again.

First, good to see aforementioned scum getting done.

Second, you will get something from him as they will do an attachment of benifits - it wil just be very small amounts and will take ages.

Third, "Wot Mitsuru said".

Fourth, this particular dole scrounging scumbag (me) got his big telly while WORKING before my old firm went bust. And no, I will not sell it for a fraction of what it cost me just to keep Daily Waily readers from putting out a fatwah on me, as that dole money is MY TAXES being paid back.

Fifth, does anyone know of any Draughtsmans jobs going in West Yorkshire?

The thing is why do it in the first place, my brother caught someone trying to take his car in the late 80's .
He broke his jaw,and collorbone, the chap wanted to take him to court.
The funny thing was he had a better car, than my brother he only wanted the wheels on my brothers car.

In the end the police dropped the case, I think he will think twice about trying to take a car again?

The Police are useless in most cases IMO .

People should know what is right, and what is wrong in the first place. Would they like it if it happended to them?

Have you had a tracker fitted since you recovered your car? I have just installed a skytag on all the brother in-law's lorries so he can track them around the country. They are fairly cheap, easy to hide and full tracking is £11 pcm or theft tracking is £7 pcm. His insurance broker is coming in next week to discuss a premium reduction as they record speed and can be used for theft recovery.
If someone steals a car of mine I don't want an insurance pay out, I want my car back!
