So, if i bought one, and mrs.zipgun had to run it as a daily.. :o what do i do about decent tyres? I dont think 155 x12 are made now apart from " trailer tyres " ,Maxi wheels and low profiles ?

EDIT !
Ive found ADO16 has a forum ! Nipping over there for a look ! :D

Edit again what do imp and viva owners use ? They were similar size ,no?

They are now 155/80 12s, and yes they are still made for cars - check out Blackcircles... I've just put two 155/80 13s on my Accclaim from National Tyres who also stock 12" ones...

If tyres do get to be an issue you can fit 13 inch Allegro Rims and 155/70 R13. But 155/80 R12 shouldn't be hard to find.

The tyre or the car ? If the car,at the mo i'd like to keep it under my hat ,but ;
It's available (at a price) :) It's a rust free minter .. :D it's never been got at :D good colour :D not many people know about it ;) it's tax free :D mrs zipgun had the estate version years ago ..so she'll know how to drive it :) To some it's maybe too good and ought not be used as a daily , but hell there's loads of them still about ,and if sommat should happen to it ,it won't be the end of the world !
As i had a few 1100/1300s in the 70's ,apart from the skinny steering wheel ,they're not far off modern cars are they ? In fact the GT went like stink !

Just can't remember how much mantainace they had to have ...If i've got to have my head under the bonnet every weekend.. :shock: I reckon a halogen headlight kit , good boots ,electronic pump and ignition , it'll be ok .. and skinny tyres will be great in the snow :lol:

I reckon that sounds like a bob-on car mate - get it bought!

They drive really well for their age, and the A-series engine has to be one of the easiest to maintain that there are, roomy, practical and good parts availability too. What's not to like?

Let us know how you get on, sounds like a peach!

It is a peach... i've got a excellent mk1 fiesta which means 2 out of 10 for me :( .. 200 miles in 2 years .Only bought and kept it because the prices were going stupid (like escorts did ) . I know it's easy to drive ,simple ,gets looked at ..blah ,blah, but i can't click with it... :( :( ADO 16 is 8 out of 10...But if a good HB viva popped up :shock: :shock:
