Weather wasn't suitable, the jump is scheduled to happen tomorrow (Sunday) now, but then I suppose it's down to the weather again.

Hears a question, if they used a balloon to get to the edge of space
why are they wasting money on rockets to get that far up when they
could use a balloon to save money and fuel then use smaller engines
to take it the rest of the way.

The balloon would need to be the size of wales to lift the rocket up there but then you wouldn't make enough speed to counteract gravity.

Atficial satellites weigh from a few hundred kg to a few tonnes. You couldn't use a balloon to put one in orbit as 23 miles isn't high enough. The satellite delivering sky TV for example is orbiting at about 22,000 miles.
