Ban 'Fracking' gas extraction in the UK

The Government must ban all gas companies from attempting to bring
Hydraulic Fracturing to the UK. This extraction method has been
shown in the US to release huge amounts of chemicals and gas into
the water table which has then contaminated drinking water, causing
health problems to local residents. For more info search
'Fracking' or 'Gasland'

Also don't forget the earthquakes that have already happened in the
UK which they admitted was caused by the fracking!

Is there documented proof that the procedure was responsible for those earthquakes? :?

It's a hot issue right now in the US. I don't think that much will be done, the economy needs the money, jobs and fuel that comes from natural gas extraction too badly.

the water passes through naturally radio active rock.. for example granite is radio active, if i remember my physics lessons correctly

Thats right Rich and as it is high enough it needs to be decontaminated but they can only
do that to what they get back out as I asked before where does the contaminated water
they can't get out go to?

Remember no matter where you are in the UK there are loads unrecorded mines and
collieries going back many centuries!

I gave this posted on a couple of other forums and on one which has a High USA member
ship actauly said here is a link to the FACTS and pointed me to this

PROVIDED BY Chesapeake Energy Corporation A COMPANY DOING THE FRACKING!!!!!!!!

My response was

Would you believe something a company put out saying that nothing can go wrong,
three mile island and the gulf of mexico ring a bell?

The UK has has coal mine workings of various collieries all over the place and quite a
feel aren't recorded.
And Chesapeake Energy Corp has had some well spills and explosions!!

Here is a Rolling Stone report as even they are looking at the mess!!!!

Never believe everything energy companies say and question everything they do
say and ask what are they not telling you.
Ignorance is not bliss it is a time bomb that will blow up in your face!

I have yet to hear their reply to my above post!

 Scary stuff. Especially as the village I stay in was home to the region's last deep mine and sometimes, since the final shift was worked in February 2005, there's been residual coal dust in the water supply.
Still, everyone has to die at least once and if the mines didn't kill us, it looks as though their legacy may yet do the job. That, or being felled by a burning windmill. How do some people even manage to go outside without an armed bodyguard eh?
