cambelt

how often should i change the cambelt on my 96 transit? its done 65 k since the last one, about 9 years....

I think I'd change it if it's nine years old, irrespective of the mileage.

Every 50-60k or 6 years if I were you - so in a word, NOW!

I had a Transit cam-belt snap in the middle of Poland a few years ago, did quite a bit of damage..... It'd been changed not long before, but they didn't do the tensioner, and that let go, so I'd advise doing the lot.

Change it now for peace of mind, I had one go on a 95 Transit doing 70, needless to say it made a hell of a mess, Ford weren't best impressed either, it was only 6 months old! :lol:

Didnt some of the ford diesels have two belts and a very bizarre method of changing them with certain waiting times.
