Hello all
does anybody know what the correct oil is for lever arm shocks, I have a ford anglia 105e and a classic 109e that need topping up, I have used comma hydraulic jack oil in the past but I don't think this is really the right stuff.

Cheers Keith.

I use shock absorber oil that's made for motorcycles - freely available in any bike spares shop. It comes in various grades, so you can choose one that gives you the amount of damping that you require - the thicker it is (i.e. high SAE number) the stiffer the damper will be and vice-versa.

Cheers :D

I have jack oil in the ones on my mog and they seem quite happy. The mecnahic that looked after it for it's first 30 years suggested it when I inherited it donkeys ago and i have kept them topped up with that ever since.
