Hi all
I am shortly going to be respraying the wings on my Opel Kadett b,my query is this...I know the colour code but do not know if the paint is cellulose, acrylic or 2pak as it was resprayed by previous owners,as long as i get the right colour do the different type of paints match or will there be a visible difference in appearance,to put it another way will a panel sprayed orange in cellulose match a panel sprayed orange in acrylic?
Thankyou in advance for any advice

Would have thought that as long as you get a good colour match, ie go to a proper paint supplier you should be ok. If you prep the wings properly you should also remove any potential risk of reaction between old & new paint.

Id T cut a section first, if the colour comes off on your cloth you can rule out 2K

Hello There

Thats about the size of it. If the paint was matched correctly then the formulation shouldnt matter, and the paint will have to be compounded in some way so as to remove any oxides and film which will dull or discolour it. 2K is safest so far as stability is concerned, but Celly is safer in terms of not choking to death on the fumes.
