Maybe some Sex Pistols tunes were playing on the radio and the car was having a little dance? I'd expect a hydro Citroen to drop gradually after it's been standing a short while, but not to come back up again, that's just weird. Watch someone explain why I'm wrong now!

I've got one of these as my daily drive. The hydro suspension, unlike earlier models, is driven by an electric pump. My car, if it's been standing for some time, will raise itself to the preset height when you unlock the doors, but I've never known it keep going up and down and I've owned it for nine years and 113,000 miles. The only thing I can think of is that the electrics are controlled by a modern CAN bus and the suspension has an ECU which takes into account speed, suspension travel and a whole lot of other things. Maybe the software has gone a bit doolally (a technical term used by we electronics engineers

) as it does from time to time, although it can be easily fixed by disconnecting the battery for ten minutes to make everything reset itself.
