This:

fascinates me, do you have your RAE?
Looks like a straight Escort BTW, but those callers aren't the people you need to worry about. The ones you need to worry about are the folk who don't knock at the door to let you see their faces and hear their voices, but who creep into locked & alarmed garages by night and remove cars skilfully.
That said, very few people bother changing entire body side pressings to turn Escorts into 2-door versions so I reckon that your family-spec car should be at less risk, given that those still appear in the ad mags for around a grand in nice, usable condition.

Thanks, but that's only some of them. Didn't want to clutter up the place with them

I used to have one on the front (Eventually moved it on as it really was too bad to save-but it looked not too bad on the surface), but the stream of wannabes and wideboys that it attracted was a right royal PITA. Most claimed to be "Doin' me a favour mate", and became quite abusive when politely told it wasn't for sale. After a while I put a sign up on the door stating in moron speak that it wasn't for sale. Any that tried after that just got told to read the F sign!
Point of this semi-rant. Remember if you spot a sorry looking car on the front of someones house, please please approach them politely, as they will have no doubt had the same experience.
On a lighter note, I have a 109 Landrover on the front waiting for a MOT. I occasionally get approached by Series owners enquiring, but they are pleasant and polite. They usually run when they find its a 6 cylinder......
