MGB Wiper Problem

I have an '80 MGB GT which, when I operate the wipers, they travel to about 45 degress, then stop. If you push them they carry on working, but they don't appear to have a lot of power behind them. I have fitted another motor, which hasn't made any difference. I have also tried lubing the spindles but to no avail. Anyone have any ideas?

Two suggestions for you.
1. Disconnect the bundy drive from the motor, remove the wiper arms from the spindles and withdraw the flexible bundy from it's sheath. Clean it (grease in it will likely be dry/heavy with age), regrease and refit.
2. While you have the drive out, check the condition of the wheelboxes under the wiper spindles. These are known to age and cause problems (Lucas fittings?)
Hope that helps.

WHS^
Also open up the wiper motor clean and re grease with Petroleum Jelly.
Also double check the contacts on the wiper switch /stalk.
Had this with my 77 GT never a problem after a strip down, clean and re-grease.
