My Fleet update.
Hi all.
I have sold the VW Karmann Ghia and the Rover P6 2000sc,given the Rover V8P6B a repanel and full repaint, also chopped out all the rust on its base unit and replaced with stainless steel, and bought a modern classic in the making for a change,a 1999 Jaguar XK8.
Given the Jag the PLK1E reg, looks better on it,and bought the Rover V8P6B a number courtesy of the DVLA. "
VBP 6B"
Just waiting for the docs to arrive then I can make up the plates.

You put that bit in to check whether everybody was paying attention. Didn't you?

Perhaps this would be a better home for this sort of post

Pilkie,
Those are absolutely fantastic. The Rover looks like you time-warped it out of a showroom. I love the Jag and the Triumph is gorgeous.
By the way, I couldn't agree more about the 'carbon neutral' sig. Anyone remember the '73 oil crisis?? The Beeb broadcast a documentary afterwards that showed how a Rolls was more economical than a really small car simply because they can generally have a life measured in decades rather than years. I don't know if it was accurate but it sure was thought provoking.
My compliments!!
Jim

As it is an update about my classic car fleet and what has been sold and done to my current ones, its not just about private, pratt or poser plates.
Some people hate them, others think that removing a cars original reg is removing its history!!
I think its my personal choice what I do to my cars and seeing as they have all had private plates in the past, then all I am doing is carrying on the tradition.

Well a few months have gone by,and I have now sold the Jag XK8 as it just didnt do anything for me!

Sold for no profit or loss, so I had almost free motoring for the 4 months I had it save bunging in fuel,as I have recouped the repair, tax and insurance costs!
Happy to be back driving my Rover P6V8 that has given sterling service over the last 11yrs,and had earnt its few months rest for its makeover.
Guess what poser plate lovers,???
YEP!!
It gets the PLK1E plate back and the VBP6B plate will be sold.

Did anyone actually say that it was? I'm sure it must be about a bit more too and have read it in that spirit.
