Hello all again, nice to be back :)

Some of you may remember the resto thread of mine from the last one.

It's now a website done by a friend

www.robsmidget.co.uk

pour yourself a cuppa and have a look round :)

any comments are welcome :)

nice :)

is it tricky to do ? If I ever finish mine, an engine upgrade is on my list of things to do.

'tis reasonably tricky. less so if you're rich and can buy a lot of the bits from frontline spridget. I made 90% of my stuff, made it harder but cost £800 total , including buying a whole rover 214 for £370.

It's awesome though, turns what was a lovely but not that fast car into a proper screamer. There's plenty of suspension mods on mine though as well - wouldn't want to run that on standard suspension. The K series is an awesome engine as well.

managed to strip the bonnet, the stripes are coming back but wider apart, so the easiest way to get rid was to go back to metal.

nice and shiny - the hole is where the A series carbs walloped the bonnet when the breather got a hole in it... There's a little bulge that goes on top of it.

There's also a hole in the A post:

but only a small one, It's a pinhole from a weld that's got a bit bigger. I've used it as a waxoyl entrance hole and squirted it all over inside. the area around the hole has resisted battering with a slag hammer (my preferred corrosion detection implement) so I reckon a bit of metallic filler will do that job.

rear deck also investigated, paint's gone weird here and the easiest way to get it off was by stabbing it with a screwdriver. I'll need to take all this off 'cos it had hammerite on it, which really doesn't like cellulose....

Going to sort the aerial hole as well, no radio so no need.

Also can't stop thinking about putting the fuel filler up there on that nice flat bit...

and also taking the beading off so it's nice and round at the top of the wings.....

more to come after this weekend! (hopefully)

:)
