I will give Doctor J Daniels a call.
Meanwhile, I was perusing an old American newspaper from 100 years ago, when I came across this photo.

Look at the fellow's shoes, have you ever seen shoes like them? Who would take that photo to a shoe artisan for recreation.

Who is the proud owner of such shoes. Have you stopped laughing yet?

Lindy, short for Lindy-Hop. The Lindy Hop was christened at the Savoy dance hall in Harlem, New York; it was named after aviator Charles Lindbergh's "hop" across the Atlantic, in May 1927, at about the time those shoes were popular, by the dancer "Shorty" George Snowden. ... Its styles and forms had evolved from a number of previously existing dances. As a younger man I danced a lot.

That Cobra/BMW kit prompted a reminisce from way back when. The MG TD was always a popular car, so much so that it spawned a company called
Sparta Cars. Founded in 1973 by Jim McIntyre, it's early success was due to the fact that the donor car was the Cortina and there was thousands of them knocking around in scrap yards. There was probably a lot more abandoned too.
The Spartan had more of a 50's MG TF appearance but I always thought that it looked like a grown-up's pedal car. The link will take you to Wiki where there's a photo, but if you still have an old Cortina knocking about somewhere.........................

... then I would tax it, insure it, get it through its MOT and use it! The Cortina has a roof, so that's very unlikely to leak (that's the job of the windscreen rubber and some hidden rust in the scuttle) and it's a Ford, so someone would always want it if I and the car failed to bond!

It's a "truck" that may,
break down, so does that count or have I forgotten the rules of this thread?
And no, I'm not looking for another, not in the UK at any rate.
