Early Javelin Restoration

Post pictures and stories about your cars both present and past. Also post up "blogs" on your restoration projects - the more pictures the better! Note: blog-type threads often get few replies, but are often read by many members, and provide interest and motivation to other enthusiasts so don't be disappointed if you don't get many replies.

With the wings removed Peter & Keith applied some heat, a large drift and liberal use of a sledge hammer to drive the rear torsion bars out
Not really visable in the image is a 100mm crack to the rear offside torsion bar mounting

When the viewing the suspension mounting the bodge comes to light - rather than repair the damage to the inner wing they just shimmed out the mounting of the inner wing to get the front wheel to run in a straight line

Has more horrors come to light it becomes somewhat hard to beleive that in 2010 this car passed a strict Austrailian WOF and went on to pass a more rigious Swiss MOT test in 2011 :o
This is the steering box mounting - one side broken off and the other redrilled in order to get the box to fit after the accident damage

What a great way to spend the holiday - I seem to have wasted all my days taking the wife here, there, and everywhere searching for things she doesn't need in the sales and those things she does buy have to go back a few days later. Now back at work sitting with an empty desk, staring at a blank screen wondering why am I here? :(

Looking forward to more updates - although I don't know where you find the time to add the updates here unless you have a laptop hidden away in the workshop :D
