dont have or need a smartarse phone

Plenty of folk don't, which is all well and good, but imagine having satnav software of your choice (most apart from Binatone is available for both operating systems**, Android and Windows phone 8, much of it free) on a gadget that didn't cost any cash up front and doesn't charge you for updates or silly voices. Still, in your profession I'm guessing that there's only one handset for you, it's the phone for men:


Some say that you can drive a fully laden Land Rover over one of those and not break [the phone]. Trust one who knows; you can't.


**-OK, so I forgot Symbian, apologies to the remaining few brave souls who've been using it since they had a Sony P800 in 2002 and still find it satisfactory, which it is and mine still works perfectly. Slowly, but perfectly.

i once drove a 15ton digger over a mobile, it didnt like it... although my nokias have had lots of abuse... 45mph & off the bonnet of my van or a 10 metre drop off a roof and survived

Aye, and possibly the first to have automatic display orientation, a touchscreen, a camera, video recording and Men In Black 2, in line-drawn fashion, just like a BBC B game.
Maximum storage card capacity was 128MB, internal storage was 16MB and RAM was also 16Meg. But we managed. It even runs the Virgin (now Absolute) radio app just fine without dropout on GPRS when the modern daily phone (HOX) needs half of its GB of RAM and a wireless connection to achieve the same end result. What progress? Satnav though, GPRS doesn't do that.

my nokia makes phone calls
dont ask me what model it is... it said nokia on the box & its a flip phone.... sometimes its a flying phone as its not an improvement on the old 5110

build your own proper phone

Still on its original battery too! The P800, not the avatar which I'm thinking ought to be due a rest about now.
