before i washed wifeys car i stripped & took patterens of the brake pads.. for some reason there are 2 different sorts. this morning the rear calliper or pad wedged making the car smell of burnt clutch.. stripped it down cleaned & greased the pads.. :D

I hope you mean you greased the pistons. I got a tub of rubber grease to use on mine when I rebuilt them last.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Ok to grease the pads so long as you do it to the back and not the friction surface ;)

You never know with Rich ;)
If they were sticking on then greased pads won't help (unless you do grease the friction surface in which case I am going to change Rich's user name to Barry)

friction surface???? :? whats that????? :lol: :lol:

honest i cleaned & put a tiny bit of copper grease on the sliding bit so the pad shouldnt stick

It's that region of a pair of woman's underpants that's lined with an extra thick layer of some form of abrasive coating known also as Worzel Gusset, Gusset De-icer, Gusset Sugar, etc.

bl##dy car!! caliper was seized on again this morning :? it was -6 here & i washed it 2 days ago?

are you SURE that it is the sliders sticking and not the piston?

im going to take it apart again in a minute & have another look, although after the school run (2km) it seems to be free :?

I would assume that a bit of heat is freeing it off. I suppose it is not impossible there is some water in the fluid inside the calliper that is freezing and sticking the piston. Have you tried bleeding that corner?
