Hmm, fookdiffayeknoe. Only 32% of my brain is working at the moment but a question anyway: H, did you work for any of the major car manufacturers at any point during your career?

Hmmm - no, I didn't work for a manufacturer. You're in the right area with car manufacture though.....

Are you Alfred Herbert who popped your clogs in 1957. Alfred Herbert's machine tool company was a major supplier to the motor industry and based in Coventry.

Hi Phil - no, sorry, not him. My base of operations was a good deal further south than that.

Here's another clue for you - by an amazing coincidence, I did die in the same year though!

The only other guy who died in 1957 was Major General Percy Hobart the brilliant designer who designed the amphibious Sherman tanks among many other things.

Nah, not him Phil - there was another one who died that year!

OK, so this might be a fairly obscure one so here's a clue - I founded a car marque and manufactured cars, however they're not made now and not many people have even heard of the marque.

Cheers all! :D

Heck, looks like I've been missing the action boys.

Ok, obscure car manufacturer from the south, I don't suppose H that you were based in Surrey?

Hmm, depends on where the official geographical boundaries between London and Surrey were in those days - I was based in more than one location during the course of my operations, I think the later location would fairly classify as Surrey, yes.

Cheers! :D
