Sorry not to get back before but I have been away for the weekend.
No I am not Neville Shute. I started off in aerodynamics at the Bristol Aircraft Co. I went into car design in 1950 and introduced the slide rule into designing compound curves when I moved into car design and used my aeronautical background.

Not just the E type. My first design was in 1950. The family resemblance can be seen from then.
