I didn't know Reliant were responsible for the Metrocab.

Reliant are full of surprises, another of which was this:
Seriously, the RS200 also had a large portion of Reliant DNA. Ford wanted GRP bodies, Tamworth had the capacity to provide these (and some other parts) in the required quantities and the rest, as they say, has pretty much been forgotten by history. Why so? Because a recent survey found that 97.4% of the population, when asked to describe a vehicle built by Reliant, mentioned yellow vans with inflatable ladies in the load area.
Reliant also made a boat that was powered by one of their engines, it looked a little like a modern jet ski sort of device and sadly, was about as big a sales success as the barbed wire canoe, the combination mattress/lava lamp and the oil fuelled video recorder.

Poor Reliant, they got a bum deal. Scimitar, SS1, Regal, Rialto, Robin, Fox, Kitten, Rebel, Ant... so much more to the company than some farcical bridesgroom novelty vehicle.

Ooh yes please! For those who don't know, the Reliant TW9 "Ant" is a sort of stepping stone from a Vespa Ape to a Scammell Scarab in terms of its size. The Ant is also great for attracting potential love interest from people who mistake it for a Bond Bug. Paint it orange, take off the doors and the sensation is eerily similar.

I love a good BJ 40. Especially if it's a RHD UK one and not that annoyingly tempting red example currently on sale a few miles away

. I'd always be wary of beige left hookers because how can we know that it wouldn't be Hammond's famously ruined one from the South American road trip episode of Top Gear. Or the white one he blew up in the Oman edition of The Grand Tour. Or anything else that's been within a radius of 100 yards of the little fella..
I spotted a Forward Control Land Rover today, red cab, white pickup body, seen down in Bamburgh just passing the Mizen bar, but although I have got round to fitting the rear view camera to the daily, I still need a lead some 8" longer than the one Clarion supplied for it!
Then as I came into Seahouses, a very clean Sunbeam high cam single, circa 1938. Obviously well used, the guy riding was dressed in period gear and yet I couldn't see any cameras so assume that he was doing this purely for the fun of it.. In a stiff breeze with horizontal rain and a headlamp that looked about dead. Brave soul, or suicide jockey? I favour the former.
