what is the plural of that?
Axes.
CxG in the case of objects that only move through one plane is calculated from
two axes, X and Y.

Correct.
I'll try to explain a bit differently. The rollover jig has a front and rear pivot point. This will create an axis. To get thingsl in balance, this axis has to pass through the bodyshells CofG. How is this achieved, or does it not matter?

its important if you want to work without having to keep moving the shell back to the position where you want it to be...
Cos if it ain`t balanced or wedged to stop it rolling, the heavy bit will find a way to sit at the bottom no matter what you do
