Not sure on engine type to be honest John, think (AEF?) 1.9d engine, no frills, no turbo, and if I remember rightly only about 80k on the clock.

I'm missing the Riley, and the mini, and even the Porsche now  currently my "thrills" are limited to driving a Mondeo ST diesel of 05 vintage, at least its sort of related to a transit, but I really must do something about it soon.

I'm having the same issue. limited to driving a diesel modern as my weekend toys are out of action waiting for money / time / parts.
What happened with your Porsche?

Hiya Terry, Porsche got sold along with my decent Motorbike to raise a bit of cash for a few jobs on the house and to get a modern the missus wouldn't moan about struggling to get in or out of / being uncomfy etc etc. Plus we had some long trips to Lancs to make as our daughter is stopping with her Grandparents for the foreseeable and the better half was worrying about traveling in the older motor.

Not the wifes fault really as she is pretty messed up physically with one thing or another, but it means I've ended up going down as her carer for now so funds are bloody tight when it comes to hobbies or so called luxuries (like eating something other than chips and egg).

The last couple of years have taken their toll really between the wifes health and my daughter developing mental illness as a teenager so priorities sort of had to change... but.. I'm determined to get a bit straighter and once the jobs on the house start coming too I'll be looking to find myself a little project again.

The right thing will hopefully pop up at the right money eventually, they normally do... fingers crossed :)

My sister had a 1978 Skoda estelle. I quiet liked it. It was quiet nice to drive. And performed better than one might think. Good rev happy engine but not slick gear change.

So worth a look for something different.
