Not without some form of ball and socket joint (as found in Maxi & E series Allegro) at the bottom of the vertical part of the front pipe and they're less reliable than the mini's arrangement because the ball eventually corrodes to the point where it can't move which stresses the pipe and causes a fracture, or, if it does remain free to move as can happen if the car is maintained by someone who's incredibly thorough and has far too much time to spare, it grinds itself into holes and starts to leak before the rest of the system has had a chance to rot away.
In nine Maxis (two mine, the rest Dad's company cars), I saw four breaks at that ball & socket connection, in eleven minis (a couple of mine the rest Mother's and some belonging to my late Mrs) I only saw one leaking manifold joint and that was inherited but remedied immediately after purchase. ISTR that it was a very good bargaining chip!
