Well that is a criminal offense. I will admit that they are not fast, glamorous, comfortable (I replaced the seats in mine to fix that last one) but there is something about a morris minor that is just "right".
Saying that I really dislike the TR7 and have no real affection for anything pre-war.
We all like different cars, that's why this forum is great, we all have something different. One make/model forums are handy for technical advice but you don't get the range of ideas you get on a multi mark one

I have a good reason for not liking Minors much - for most of my first fifteen years, my parents had them (MM convertible, SII traveller and 1961/2 1000 Traveller) and, a couple of years later, I worked on a farm that had a pick up (VAO 58 H as I recall, though it could have been 56H)and, about three or four years after that, for a local David Brown agents, who had a Minor van (I can't remember if it was DAO 576K or DAO 747 K - they had a Mini van as well). Certainly the family Minors started off as reasonably new but soon ended up as old bangers - the 1000 was rotten by 1969 and even the "miracle" of Cataloy didn't cure the rotten back spring mounting on the chassis (the salesman said it would do the job!).
Surprisingly, Minis never really excited me either - apart from when they came out and looked so different. Again, we had our share of Minis, but I think what really killed any love of them was when I drove a "Silver Jubilee" one in the late 80s. I then remembered how much they bounced about and was most relieved when I returned it to its owner and got my Maxi back!
I think, in heart, I was always a Rootes fan! My grandmother had a run of Minxes and Rapiers and an uncle had Minxes and Vogues; so much nicer than the boring BMC machines!
