You measure it from the very bottom of the pedal directly downwards to the point that it hits the floor, as though you had dropped a plumb line. The book says 6.5" which is fine for an auto, if it's manual and you want to avoid clutch spin, set the brake pedal to 6&7/8", and set the clutch pedal to the same height. Personally I do them all to the latter regardless of what the book says.

member of p6roc.club having bought ( at far too high a price) a rover p6 v8 auto of 74 vintage. with genuine low mileage.
never anything near me and only seen one rover p6 locally ( blue ) but not met owner. so joined havering classic car club. they do joint ventures ( meets) with other clubs such as essex rebels etc . so after few months of trying to sort car out. ( over heating .banging at rear. misfire) managed to get on a run to southend, hurrah.
noise is exhaust banging on trailing (de dion) arm when going over anything bigger than a cigar butt. hope toi cure in next few weeks . re hanged etc 3 times to no avail. sledge hammer option looming.
be nice if only one club ( logical too) , Even nicer if i get to meet another p6 owner. though dont run mine much due to habit of cutting out when idling and pulling up at lights ggrrr. electronic ignition hasn't helped misfire .. carb rebuild may be next option. new fuel pump not helped. so anybody having a nice smooth running p6.. well done. hope my gets sorted before it gets laid up for winter ( tax 6 months a year plus never drive it when wet or likleyhood of rain) at this rate in another 39 years will have covered ohh er possibly a few thousand miles lol
I find spares expensive and some bits hard to get eg front quarter windows. door cards.

What parts are you after? Some of us have stashes of spares. I can't see why quarter windows would be a problem unless it's the rubbers you're refering too.

I suggest you try the Classic Rover Forum (though you may want to fix your keyboard to get the best responses). 8-)

I' d second that. You will get to hear about P6 meetings although you may have to travel a bit. There are a few P6 owners around these parts, although they rarely seem to come to meetings locally. I haven't found parts expensive, or particularly hard to come by (compared to the Matra :( ). All the three main suppliers of P6 parts give good service
1974 Rover 2200 SC
1982 Matra Murena 1.6
