Yes it was, indeed I could have coped with a tad more of same, great to see a Marina conversion doing what many a modern car would baulk at. ;)

The Granada Coupe rescue was good too, just goes to show that car enthusiasts come in all guises. :D
May the light at the end of your long dark tunnel not be a train travelling the other way.

As I have stopped buying the mag, a friend appeared with this month's copy (he used to get mine when I finished it).

It didn't take long to see why he bought it - "his" car is in the middle of p 106/7! He's on his third Starion (his current one is red too) and has nearly finished "tidying" it up. The previous too were too far gone for restoration (one was spares to the second), so were stripped and most parts sold off - almost as quickly as they were advertised!

My preference was the Golf article - having had a MkII some time ago. I think the biggest expense was having the "ball" on the gear lever repaired - a ten pound part cost over a hundred to change (in 1997)!

I've not read all of it yet,but thoroughly enjoyed the Morris Marina Suntor story, all the way to Germany.
Do the Marinas have a unique clutch control manner? It was mentioned the seller told the buyer, not to ride the clutch otherwise he will stall it.
It was funny about the wipers,if they don't come down, put your hand out and push them down :)

The Granada Coupe restoration, putting the Banger racers reputation name to a good note
