Hi folks... Could an owner of an Acclaim do me a little favour by giving me the dimensions of the boot? Width, depth and length if poss... I'm thinking of changing the Princess to something more economical and having owned one a few years back was thinking of looking at the auto version... Trouble is, I have to be able to get the wife's wheelchair in it!!

Wherabouts in the country are you? Maybe if there's an Acclaim owner local to you then you might be able to try the boot out for size.

A non-powered, folding wheelchair with 24" wheels goes in the boot of a Smart ForTwo easily and with room left over for a case of those 275ml bottle of Belgian beer so, unless it's a larger chair or something motorised, I can't imagine that stowing it in an Acclaim's boot would be a problem, though you may need to remove the foot rest drop arms from the front of the frame.
Failing that, boxes are available to stow a chair on the roof of any car with either gutters or Isofix-style sockets. You could even put it on the floor in the back of the car.

That Hondamatic/Triomatic semi-auto is a lovely thing to use, I'd go so far as to say that they're as good as any other modern auto and a darned sight more pleasant than the cheaper, indexed CVTs found in many newer cars.

If the wheels will fit, the rest's a breeze. ;)

Thanks, I feel it should fit as well, based on my rather vague recollections of the one we had... I was trying to see if there was a site which showed the boot space as that would tell me, I think its around 12 cu ft which should be ok... It fitted in the back of a Maxi and I think the boot is little different in size...

Live in Kidderminster, btw!

There's also a mention in Triumph World. There should be something in Classic Car Weekly soon.
