Mot time it failed on loose bracket battery, fog rear not working but it did tell them you must first turn on the front fog light for it to work they did not.
Also bulb pattern not bright on one headlight. Indicator loose on front wing. Silly little things so nothing major thankfully.
It was nice to go for a blast there and back in the car anyway, put a smile on my face as it always does when I drive it.

Its been on a Sorn since last Sept, so it has not been used that much will get it out more when we move as it will be in my garage at our new home.

As the car is at my Mothers garage, that is a forty mile trip. I had an offer from a German dealer last week at a very good price.
The thing is its my dream car since a small boy, I could never afford one again they have gone up in value far to much over the last few years.
You are looking at £30k-£60k now for one and even then they will need money spent on them from the start. I saw one in OZ up for £72,500 on a 82 plate.
Even saw one in the U\K for £60k as well. My 67 bug is my daily ride that needed four tyres only to pass its MOT this year.

To recover from the frustration of my RRC I put a new wiper motor and rack in to the mog. 20 minutes. I really must book it in for an MOT this week!

I started digging the filler out of the OSR wing of my Dolomite.

The rust is surface rest so I think I've caught it in time. It has been like this for the 5 years I have owned this car. I'm wanting to respray the car because the paint is very poor in places but I need to rectify the bodywork issues and I've decided to start here.

While the Range is in pieces I decided to take the heater apart and clean / grease everything as required. I found:
2x ikea pencils
2x agros pens
1x sidelight bulb
£3.07
LOTS of fluff, dust and dirt.

So if you are ever short of a few pounds, don't hesitate to spend several hours taking your heater apart to see what lose change has fallen down the vents over the years.

I also greased all the joints in the wiper assembly as it has always squeaked so fingers crossed it won't any more

I finally found Dad's old Wanner Grease gun, charged it with grease, bled it got under the car, done the prop UJ's and the base of the steering. Just wish I still had rebuildable balljoints as would of done them too. Oh and put another blade in the passenger side wiper.

And when you finished greasing everything you took the pens and pencils back to ikea and argos ?

2nd job today, adjust the mog's handbrake ready for the MOT on Tuesday. Also fitted new leads as I got a shock from one of them, adjusted the mixture and idle speed, replaced the fuel hose from the pump to the carb as it was a bit cracked, re-connected the heater intake inside the car and removed the sponge ball I was using to block the hose. Went for a run around the block and found the car feels hugely improved. The next job when I have finished with the range will be the mog's clutch as it has been slipping for a year now.
Being unemployed means I have lots of time to do jobs but no money to buy the bits to do the jobs with :S

A random steering box (1960s Fiat 500 I think) appeared on my bench at work while I was away last week and - inspired by UKJeeper's post - I decided to try swearing at it. Well imagine my surprise when I found that swearing at steering boxes is an immensely therapeutic activity.
Next week, I shall mostly be questioning the parentage of fuel tank sender units.
