That's all well & fine but Rich, did the Marina 1.5 Diesel not go down rather well over there, in that France? Find us some nice examples of that less commonly seen (in the UK) version please. Extra points for 1.5D Coupés.

You've got to appreciate the work people put in to maintaining / restoring their classic no matter what it is.

Exactly, and in my case, the Morris Ital we had was when I was in my late single digits all the way up to my mid teens. I had some great memories with that car and it's the first car I ever drove on my own when it failed the MOT due to rust and dad gave it to me to drive around the farm. It lasted another 3 years or so as the yard workhorse but then my brother stole the points out of it for his Metro I think and we never got it running again. Sad really as I've occasionally looked for another one and never found a 1.7 estate.

Nope, that was a petrol one. Bizarrely, the commercial Marinas would appear not to have been supplied officially with the Diesel option which seems an odd omission given that fishmongers and mobile mechanics - the Marina van's two largest groups of buyers by a combined margin of 12.7% over cobblers; the next largest group of Marina van fans - would usually have preferred an oil burner. Nice one, BL, more potential sales lost to Peugeot.

Anyroadup, I couldn't wait for Rich to find a Diesel Marina , so I went on the internet and spotted this lovely, late example of the finest of all the Marinas, apart, of course, from that elusive Diesel Coupé.

Well that explains why you have such 'feelings' for the marque. I'm a bit worried about the tent though. You know, camp and all that.
